About Dr. Heather
Dr. Heather Johnson, D.O.M. holds a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from The Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin, a Bachelors degree from The University of Montevallo in business administration, and an Associate of Arts degree from Enterprise State Community College. She has also taken many educational courses on specific treatments for diseases using acupuncture and herbal formulations.

Dr. Heather is from a family of health care providers. Her great grandmother was a Muskogee Creek Native American medicine caregiver. Her uncle, Dr. Sherman Johnson, D.C. and her father, Dr. Joe W. Johnson, D.C. are chiropractors in Paxton, Florida. She joined her family in practice in 2010 and is happy to be a part of one of the most respected chiropractic and acupuncture practices in the area.
Dr. Heather Johnson practices acupuncture, tuina (Chinese massage using acupuncture points), cupping, and Chinese herbal formulas.
Dr. Heather has experience with:

- Chinese Herbal Therapy (Dr. Johnson can suggest an herbal formula to meet your current health needs.)
- Cupping (Using glass or plastic globes to create a vacuum in order to increase blood circulation and warmth.)
- Mugwart Therapy (Also known as Moxabustion. This therapy uses the burning of dried mugwort to warm specific acupuncture points and channels)
- Gua Sha Therapy (Also known as Gwa Sha. The gentle scraping of the skin using a tool to increase blood circulation and warmth.)
